What to Expect From the Process
Custom work at Lady Cromer Jewelry begins with your inspiration and ideas.
Process
First we will ask you questions about design, materials, sizing, and budget for your project. This will help guide us as we make your jewelry come to life.
Then we get to work sourcing your center stone. Generally we bring in 3-4 options for you to choose from. Once you choose a center stone full payment for the stone is due.
Next we get to work on the CAD model. All design work is done in house by designer April Cromer. When it is ready, we will send a digital rendering of the design for approval. We make any necessary adjustments and send over an updated render as soon as possible.
Once the renders are approved we 3D print a resin model for you to try on. The resin model is a great representation of the size and scale of the piece, and helps to visualize what the final product will look like.
Finally, we can go into casting. From this point it is usually about 2-3 weeks for production and then your project is ready for pick up!
Timing
We typically ask for a minimum of about 8-12 weeks for custom design. Every project is different, and the timeline can vary. If you have a deadline please let us know ahead of time. We will make sure to accommodate!
Pricing
Final cost for all custom work depends on current metal prices, labor, which includes design, casting, setting, prep, polishing, and engraving or handwork, and gemstones.
A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to start on any project. Before we are able to go into casting, a second non-refundable production deposit of between $600–$1,000 is required. All deposits apply to the final cost of the piece once the project is finished. Deposits cannot be refunded, they cannot be transferred to any other project, and they expire after 90 days if the project is put on hold. Tax is charged on the full amount at completion.
Quote
Once we have approval of the design renderings we are able to calculate a rough idea of cost for your project.
Please keep in mind that all quotes are an estimate. The quote is based on many factors including gemstones, current metal prices and any labor we anticipate throughout the process. Metal prices fluctuate daily. We charge based on current metal pricing at the time your piece is cast.
Metal Trade Discount
We offer the opportunity to bring down the final cost of your custom piece by trading in your unwanted precious metals! The amount of your trade is based on 80% of market value for gold or platinum and 55% of market value for silver. Trade amounts are locked in on the day you bring in your items.
This counts as a discount towards the final cost of the piece. Tax is still charged on the final, full amount of your project.
